No conversations about the pipe. Been in once for bronchitis, once for reflux. I actually checked online- my record says I'm a pipe smoker (I don't lie or "evade the truth" on it)- but I'm just surprised. I even brought it up last visit....we talked more about coffee!

My doctor doesn't know I smoke a pipe yet. Last time I went in, I didn't smoke enough to say yes to "Do you smoke?" Now that I smoke more, I will tell him. Being a 22 year old female, I wonder how he will take the news. I always figured that when they asked "Do you smoke," they talk about cigarettes.

I get my care at the VA. Nobody has engaged me about smoking a pipe until last visit for a CPAP machine. The tech told me if I ever need to have oxegen from the VA, do not say I smoke. The VA will not pay for oxygen if you are a smoker.
