Since moving to MN I've had some awesome mail days. Mostly I've been unboxing all of the nonsense I shipped myself from CT, but there've also been a handful of pipe and cigar packages. Yesterday brought one of the best boxes. What was in it? Two BriarBird pipes!
The first is a hefty piece that fits deligthfully well into my hand. There is some excellently done waving in the wood around the rim, a huge bowl, and an interesting flared accent ring. Shannen has dubbed this pipe "The Avocado" because of the rounded bottom and rustication. The chamber is much more generous than anticipated and I cannot wait to sit down for a good long while and test this baby out! Should be able to tomorrow!
The second pipe was a poker. Not sure if it is small enough to count as a nosewarmer but I've been dying to get my mitts on a little Poker and this one is perfect. The stem is an interesting acrylic with a bit of depth and shine to it, I'm very happy with this fella.
All in all, yesterday was a good day!!
