These are all some of the blends on my to-try list:
4noggins- Bald Headed Teacher
Astleys No.44
Carter Hall
C&D- Stratfordshire, OJK, Billy Budd, Haunted Bookshop
Dan Tobacco- Bill Baileys Balkan, Gordon Pym, Midnight Ride, Mellow Mallard
GL Pease- Westminster, Charring Cross, Abingdon, JKP
Germain- 1820, Brown Flake, Special Lat. Flake
Heath & Home- Blackhouse
Hermit- Captain Earles- 10 Russians, Stimulus Package,Nightwatch, Private Stock
Orlik - DSK
Peterson- Irish Flake, Perfect Plug
Robert McConnell- Latakia Flake, Oriental
Sam Gawaith- Balkan Flake, FVF
Edit : there is no assurance this list will not suddenly grow
I've probably forgotten 1 or 2, but these should keep me busy for a couple years. I think checking off 2 new blends on a (loosely) monthly basis would be more than suitable alongside my current favorites.
Does anybody else have a largish to-try list? Have you a method to the madness as far as prioritizing your sampling?

My "to try" list has gotten much shorter as my "open tins" list has gotten much larger. :)
You should get in on the Box Pass ... tons of sampling to be had! :puffy:

My "to try" list has gotten much shorter as my "open tins" list has gotten much larger.

They never told me pipe smoking would involve so many damn lists
I am in on the box pass-Canadian Edition...so you can bet at least one list will be growing. :puffy:

Your list has many of the blends that I would like to try as well. My list is in a constant state of change and growth. I have some Carter Hall I can toss in the Box when it makes it's way back around to me. :puffy:

I made a list yesterday. Criteria were: I haven't tried it; it's heavy with Latakia; it comes in a metal "shoe polish" tin.
Dan Tobacco - Midnight Ride, Bill Bailey's Balkan, Gordon Pym

Comoys - Cask No. 1

Petersons - Balkan Delight, Old Dublin

Ashton - Artisan's Blend

Brigham - Auroa Borealis, Heritage Blend, Hudson's Bay (Virginia exception)

Brebbia - Balkan

Presbyterian - Presbyterian

Gawaith, Hoggarth - Balkan Mixture, Commonwealth

I have a few of those blends in unopened tins. Quite a list. Take your time.

Have tried most of those on your list, and HIGHLY recommend a few of them... funny I used to keep a list as well, but over the years Ive noticed that I'll try whatever sounds good at THAT moment.

The list I made years ago wouldn't be the same as if I made one today. Taste's change and even blends change, so I gave up on lists and now just order (when I can) a few blends that are must have's for me as well as couple of new blends that strike my fancy at the moment.

My "To Try" list is pretty much "All of the above"... and I've got at least a dozen unopened tins just sitting there, silently mocking me...

I just checked reviews on Hudson's Bay. I feel like I dodged a bullet. It mimics Royal Yacht, the only tinned tobacco I found putrid. Pfhew!

Well maxx there's one off the list!
Thanks for the comments guys. Pipe smoking really is a fine journey. I'm going to go slow, enjoy the ride and see where it takes me. :puffy:
