After watching The Lord of the Rings for the 50th time, I just realized where the name of the tobacco, "Shortcut to Mushrooms" came from.
By the way, this is an excellent English blend that is super smooth and tasty. It is a house blend from Just for Him, which Bob has reviewed here:

Anyway, the name comes from an early scene in The Fellowship of the Ring. Frodo has started his journey when he and Sam run into Peregrin 'Pippin' Took and Meriadoc 'Merry' Brandybuck. They just stole vegetables from Farmer Maggot and are being chased by him.
They fall down a hill and land at the bottom near the road where they first run into one of the black riders. When they land, one of them says "that was a shortcut". Another says, "a shorcut to what?" And then they spot mushrooms and exclaim ..."to mushrooms".
Falling down the hill was a shortcut to mushrooms.

Actually, here is the script excerpt:
EXT. WOODED ROAD -- DAY
Frodo, Sam, and Merry and Pippin tumble head over heels down

a bank, onto a dark, wooded road. CLOSE ON: A winded Pippin,

his face inches away from a large pile of Horse droppings...
PIPPIN

That was close.
Frodo picks himself up and looks around quickly.
MERRY

(groaning)

Ow...I think I've broken something.
Pulls a LARGE CARROT, almost broken through in the middle,

out from his back pocket.
MERRY (CONT'D)

Oh.
SAM

(turning on Merry and Pippin)

Trust a Brandybuck and a Took.
MERRY

What? That was just a detour...a

shortcut.
SAM

A shortcut to what?
Pippin has spied something under the trees on the far side of

the road.
PIPPIN

(excited)

Mushrooms!
CLOSE ON: SMALL, brown mushrooms growing amongst the Loamy

undergrowth. Sam, Merry, and Pippin race toward the

mushrooms! Frodo is tense and watchful. He realizes they are

on a wooded road. Scattered leaves rise into the air Whirling

down the road as if blown by an invisible wind...
41.
SUDDENLY... THE SOUND OF HORSES HOOVES...

I like that part, I believe those hairy-footed critters could eat their weight in groceries and smoke a pound of tobacco a day. Looks like life in the Shire is quite nice. However, the women leave a lot to be desired, don't think I want a beard on my woman. I've tried Shortcut to Mushrooms, it's not bad at all.

I just started reading the Lord of the Rings to my daughter tonight. I thought the section of the Prologue "Concerning Pipe-weed" was fascinating, although I may be alone in that. After reading, we looked over the map of the Shire, reading out the place-names. Yes, Frogmorton was one of them, and got a knowing smile from my wife when it was read out.
"A shortcut to mushrooms" is the title of chapter four of book one of The Fellowship of the Ring. It is considerably longer than the cut-down scene in the movie. The line in the movie is more an homage to the chapter than anything. In the book, they meet with and have a beer and some supper with Farmer Maggot.
I can't wait to share this book with her.

Wow. I'll have to read the books again.
When I was a kid, between the ages of 9 - 19, I read all four books, the Trilogy, plus The Hobbit three times each, but that was 28 years ago.
