It’s time for me to sit down and have a big plate of crow.
In my introductory post on this forum I said the following about these tobacco blends:
Mac Baren’s Navy Flake: Fair to Good

Mac Baren’s Plumcake: Fair

Davidoff’s Scottish Mixture: I’ll trade this near full tin minus one bowl for anything (used Sanka coffee grounds, newspaper from the bottom of the bird cage, old toe nail clippings)
My palate has changed. In fact Mac Barens Navy Flake and Plumcake have been added to my favorites. Now here’s the part were I take a big bite with the feathers sticking out the corners of my mouth … I now enjoy Davidoff’s Scottish Mixture. What happened? Well, my mouth is full and that’s another story. I just wanted to get this meal over with.

Don't feel bad... This has happened to me as well with other blends.

Just as our Pipes and blends evolve with time, so do we in our preferences.

I think that our tastes change over time just as Fred indicated.

That's part of the pipe smoking experience.

The more we learn the more we yearn for, and search for the nuances.
That's probably why those just picking of the pipe smoke more of the vanillas and cherry tobaccos.

I will admit while I love tobaccos like Escudo Navy Flake, I do enjoy big bowl of Paladin's Black Cherry.
Just remember: No harm.... No fowl. :)
