Every couple of years, someone posts a thread about what it means to be manly and other members voice their responses. The time has come again.

What is your definition for manliness?
I have a few ideas this time:
Shaving with bandsaw.

Bring down a bear barehanded and eating all of it raw, followed by a full keg of beer.

Scratching one's crotch and armpits vigorously when forced to attend performances of the ballet by your partner.

Never attending performances of ballet.

Misquoting philosophical arguments without remorse.

Bogarting the remote control.

Slaloming thru heavy freeway traffic.

Rinsing out your handlebar mustache to make soup.

Refusing to ask for directions.

Bathing on alternate Friday nights, but no more.
and #1:

Never admitting that you are wrong or don't know the answer.
What are yours?

walking into a red neck beer joint and shouting out--anybody up for some sex?
this will prove your manliness in a fist fight

Mowing your lawn with a scythe. Yes, I do this to keep down neighborly conversation.

Owning more truck than you are able to drive and/or park properly always takes the cake for me.

Getting a life sized tattoo of your favorite church warden on your Never mind. It's probably not appropriate, but it sure would be manly.

Should one really bathe twice a month? Is that even healthy? I doubt having the water heater operating that much is good for the ecology. I spend a lot of time getting my hair and mutton chops to reek of stale smoke. A winter and summer shower should certainly be sufficient for most men. Throw in rain and wading a creek or two and that should suffice for a manly man.

You think the water heater is bad for the environment? The deodorant and shampoo industries are the single biggest consumer of fossil fuels on the planet. That's why hippies smell so...environmentally friendly.

Where did I suggest that the water was heated, or even if it was a water bath?

Yes, there were a number of the redolent darlings in downtown Ashland Ore while we were there attending the OSF. We used the stink as an early warning system to avoid getting panhandled.

Issuing monosyllabic orders from your recliner throne with a six pack between your knees, while glaring straight ahead past spouse, children and pets. This reassures all that everything is under your control and therefore fine.
