Very surprised to see how well Mr. Beans version of maigret turned out. Slow, moody, sombre & very well acted by everyone involved. Perfect evening television. Very much looking forward to the next one. The pipe was never far from maigret's mouth throughout the film, though I failed to see which pipes they were, maybe a comoys was in there,but not sure.
Thumbs up for the new 'maigret'.

I too enjoyed it. It took me about 20 mins to stop expecting Atkinson to do something ridiculous as I don't ever recall seeing him do a serious roll but I thought him very convincing and subtle by the end.
