Only Tobacco I throw away is the ash! I don't believe throwing out baccy is normal. Of course none of us has ever claimed to be normal =p.

I never throw tobacco away. For one thing, a tobacco you hate today may be one that you love tomorrow. Even if, after smoking in every pipe I own with every packing method known to man and with as much as a years age, I still just don't care for the tobacco...I will at least save it for trading with someone or giving to a pipe smoker in need. Never throw it away though. Some one put their hard work and their passion for tobacco into that finished product and it would be a shame to just throw it to the earth unconsumed.

I agree with what has gone before.....The tobacco that you do not care for today, if stored properly, may be a treasure someday.

    GASP!!!!

Can there be such a thing?

I have an old Half and Half can on which I have written "Bottom of the Bag"....
I think that is self explanatory. Occasionally I will throw in some "Fresh 1Q" to balance the moisture content. It's good stuff for that last little smoke of the night in a churchwarden.

I have a tendancy of "tossing" my tobacco but not "throwing" my tobacco. But it really depends on what day of the week you're asking...???

I have never thrown tobacco away. I did have some cigarette tobacacco I bought because I was young and stupid. It was so horrible that my wife suggested it might keep the neigborhood cats from poo'ing in her gardens. I thought this would be a good use for it.

You know...it really works too (for most rodents too), even the cigarrette tobacco juice is sprayed on plants as an insecticide.

I once accidentally lost half a tin of Mac B Black Ambrosia. It was on my leg in the park that bisects my college and fell. Closest I've come to throwing tobacco away.

I would never throw any amount of tobacco away! I do almost the same as Lawrence but I separate my english left overs from my aro leftovers in glass jars!

Mason jars and bale top jars, mason jars and bale top jars.... that is all!

I never trhow it away, I either save it in my cellar or trade it to someone interested in it. Just because I don't like it does not mean somwone else does not. Not even Mix 79.

I'm with Jimbo on this one. It is one's civic duty to keep Mixture 79 out of the nation's pipes.

And Firedance Flake, which happens to be the only tobacco I've ever tossed into the crapper.

    LOL Jimbo.

I was discussing with Bob how I can't understand why Mixture 79 gets such a bad rap as mine is really good.

Then Bob pointed out that mine is 12-years old and that may make a difference.

Don't throw away your Mixture 79!

I'm glad you spoke up because I was curious, and the only thing that prevented me from buying some was that, like all SG's stuff, it was out of stock. Is it like a drugstore aro? Or does it just taste lousy? It's supposed to be blackberry, brandy & vanilla, or something like that.

I have to dissent on SG Firedance Flake. I like the little bit I've been able to obtain. It's cool smoking, doesn't gurgle, and tastes and smells wonderful. Granted, the box that it came from at my local tobacconists looked like it was made in the late 80's, and I didn't have to rub it out really. Just break some of the larger flake pieces up to a more uniform size, and I was off. So, I guess the FDF (hey, a new abbreviation!) that I had was perfectly aged but I'm looking for more to cellar.

    To each, his own.

Take two blends you don't really care for, mix them together, and sometimes you get something you like. It's better than tossing it...

I smoked #79 before and while I didn't think it was bad, it is something that I couldn't smoke all of the time and it will definitely ghost a pipe very badly. It takes awhile to get rid of the ghost of #79.

I really like Fire Dance Flake. But I also love Lakeland style tobaccos. You can read my review of it here:

Yes, I'm a litter bug. I tried a bowl of Borkim Riff Whiskey once. It left the truck at 65 mph about three puffs into the bowl. The same thing happened with the last packet of Half and Half. The H&H was so wet with humectant that it was actuaslly steaming.

I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane.

If there's a blend I don't care for, I either give it away, or, if it's not totally repulsive, jar it. As far as I recall I've only dumped to tobaccos in the trash, and that was Black Luxery and Caramel, both from Danske Club. YUK!

I recently came across a blend of especially potent tobaccos that I found especially unpleasant. After some consideration of my options, I found that adding it in small amounts to some Captain Black, makes the old drugstore stuff far more interesting. I cannot imagine disposing of any tobacco for any reason. Be creative and you may come up with a happy surprise.
