I'm replacing the American flag that I have in the front of my house with the "Dont Tread On Me" flag.

I say we all go throw a bunch of pizzas in the harbor. Wait that would be endangering the ducks and carp.

I'm waiting for news of the Pepsi Rebellion.

By the way for those that are incensed by this "new" heavy hand of govt. It was new in 1791.

We pretty much have Alexander Hamilton to thank for the centralist activist federal govt. we have today.

Taxing Whiskey and carriages was his idea.

The single article of ardent spirits, under Federal regulation, might be made to furnish a considerable revenue. Upon a ratio to the importation into this State [i.e., New York], the whole quantity imported into the United States may be estimated at four millions of Gallons; which at a shilling per gallon would produce two hundred thousand pounds. That article would well bear this rate of duty; and if it should tend to diminish the consumption of it, such an effect would be equally favorable to the agriculture, to the economy, to the morals and to the health of the society. There is perhaps nothing so much a subject of national extravagance, as these spirits

This and other quotes like these 2 are why I consider Aaron Burr a national hero.

Why has government been instituted at all? Because the passions of man will not conform to the dictates of reason and justice without constraint.

It's not tyranny we desire; it's a just, limited, federal government.

    Several comments...

First, it's not a good thing to do, but if everyone were to fly the "colors" upside down... I think that would get someones attention.

Second, what would stop pizza joints from call themselves "Flat Brad with Stuff" on top...

Third, YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

Yeah Phil. Some discussion of this over at my RYO board. We all saw cigarette tobacco recut and labeled pipe tobacco after SCHIP. So does 7 UP become "Non Fruit Juice" along with your flat bread non pizza?

Will Papa Johns be running a "Tax Evasion Tomato Pie" delivered for $9.99 with coupon?

Fellas, I hate to say "the sky is falling", but I think the SKY IS FALLING. Communism/socialism started with a simple mantra: we have to first take control of the banking, healthcare and educational systems and THEN we can take control of the government. Me thinks we're most of the way there.

I'm not sure you can call this communism or socialism. It's actually fascism which of course can be practiced from either side of the "ism" fence.

I'm certainly not running to Obama's defense so don't misunderstand. But this stuff was coming well before he took office and it's not always driven by just the left or right.

I think it's dangerous to leap to the conclusion that either organized party or any of its prominent members have our best interests in mind.

But I don't want to wade to far into the political muck.

    I'll just say...damn the man...damn the man.

jonesing, I couldn't agree more that this stuff's been coming for a while. I think both of the two major parties are unfortunately trying to take us to the same place. It's just that one's taking us via a prop plane while the other one's taking us via an F-15. I'm quite certain that none of our founding fathers would approve of either the Rs or the Ds were they around today.

The power to tax, is the power to control. There lies their power. We should.......

awww the hell with it. Let's assemble 10,000 good men, armed, at the steps to Capitol Hill, go in and drag everyone of those politicians out, march 'em down to the Potomac, and throw them in. And dare the police and army to do a damn thing. That should be our message.

I'm tired of hearing about ways to protest this or that. Nothing is going to get our message across to them except force. They think they are immune to the will of the people. They need a wake up call. Or wake up bath!

    My opinion.

Well that didn't work real well during the Whiskey Rebellion or that little skirmish called the Civil War....but hell I'm in.

I'll bring my own pitchfork and some tar and chicken feathers. Do you have a rail to ride them out on?

Nice idea Max, but half of us would probably be killed on the spot. The other half would be label domestic terrorist and probably be imprisoned without rights as citizens. THANKS Patriot act.
