ok well maybe i exaggerated a bit in my topic title.....

But i just have to say, waiting for new pipes and tobaccos to come in the mail is so hard!
What do other people do to keep their mind off of the awaited package(s). Or better yet, how do people avoid making multiple trips a day to their mailbox/p.o. box?

I currently have a few ounces of tobacco I am waiting on (including some FMOTT, one of my favorites that i happened to run out of tonight) as well as a new pipe that will all hopefully get here by the end of the week. Hope it comes sooner than expected!

I feel ya. I'm waiting on 1k g's of FVF myself. Went out and got new mason jars for em and all. This stuff will sit 500g's for 5 years and 500g's for 10. I'm pretty anxious myself. Patience though. All good things will come. IT can take days to get that Steelhead to grab that streamer. But when it does. It's worth it !

I try an put it out of my mind, then it's a nice surprise when it comes!

flyfishin - I love that you're anxious to get a tobacco that you're not going to try for at least 5 years!

fortunately I have a pretty amazing tobacco shop about 20 minutes from me, a trip there to sample something new while I wait always helps

Usually I'm pretty busy during the day, which keeps my brain distracted away from the mailbox. If I don't have the luxury of distraction, I usually smoke a bowl of something I haven't smoked in a while (typically a blend that isn't coming in the mail) or do some maintenance on my pipes.

What am I saying? There is no cure for anticipation. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas morning whenever I have something coming in the mail, especially if it's pipe related. Besides, the painful waiting makes the receiving even better!

Cheers on your new pipe, by the way!

    I don't even give it a thought.
In that way, the happy dance on the front porch when the parcel does arrive is that much more pronounced!

What I do is play video games, watch movies, or hangout with my girlfriend or my friends. I never really get it off my mind though. Im very impatient

As long as I got a pipe full of baccy and a nose full of snuff, I'm a happy camper

Here in the UK we dont have mailboxes, the postman delivers it right to my door, and through the letterbox.

But I just try and forget about it, do whatever and it turns up nice and quickly. Post normally takes about 1-2 days, and a couple of hours if its express delivery.

Been waiting for my GDB to come back from Dave at Walkers for over a month. Just got the email, and paid the invoice. Should see it maybe late this week or early next. Seeing as how that is a sentimental pipe, it has been a long wait.

Bought 2 pipes from the same guy off Ebay in early December. He sent one, and not the other. No big deal, because once he realized what he did, and he was out the country at the time, he communicated his mistake and told me he was going to send it when he returned. The pipe he did send is a keeper, and has become one of my favorites, so I am not worried, but I have been anticipating this other pipe making it home, as well. He sent me an email the other day, and let me know he was back home and getting things in order.

I thought you were going to say that your Mistress called and said she was pregnant.

Marry the right person, this one decision will determine 90% of your happiness.
