Here is a little Opera style pipe I picked up. It is a corn cob coated what may be some type of Bakelite which ends up being bonded to the cob bowl to extend into being the shank. The stem is made of Ebonite, there are no markings, stampings or anything that would indicate who made it.
It smokes like a cob which is surprising since I doubt it can breathe like one, don't know if it was someone's attempt at disguising a corn cob who was a fan of opera or what but it is a neat little smoker nonetheless, having some Luxury Navy Flake in it.

Cool. Pretty exotic, to me anyway. I can't remember seeing one like that in all my pipe related wanderings. Maybe one of the Forums pipe historians will come up with a source on this one. I'll check back on the thread to see.

Did you buy it new? I'd honestly love to get a little pipe like that and have never seen one for sale. Great little pipe you have there.
