I just picked up the first offering from Missouri Meerschaum from their 150th Anniversary line. Been checking their site every day to see if they've released anything and this afternoon I not disappointed. Looks like they're doing a limited series of bulldog style corn cob pipes. The first in the line is this beauty, the Bully 2019:

Looking quite forward to the rest in the series that they offer!

I'm sure there will be much more to come! I'm curious to see if they offer a bent design. I really liked the old school ones that were like that. I think they looked very sharp. The plastic on these looks like it might be different than what shows up on the usual offerings. Got me wondering if it's a little denser like the old ones were. If not, then I reckon I won't be clenching on this one since I apparently ravage the bits.

Just placed my order. I thought about waiting until the rest come out but was afraid they would sell out. Really a nice looking cob.

After the St. Paddy's Day pipe I bought sold out of the first run in an afternoon, I don't sit on them. As soon as they land I go for it. Hopefully will get my hands on every offering they make just because I probably won't be around for the next anniversary issued anything from them.

While I have some original Corn Dawgs I would be remiss not getting a 150th Anniversary one, thanks for the heads up.

Wow! That is awesome! Prolly won’t buy but I do like it a lot. I’ve just got way too many pipes as it is. I would like to see them keep that shape though!

They sort of look like some farmer may have carved one with his trusty pen knife. They have a rustic look about them.

I do plan to, and I'm sure you did! I'm slowly becoming their unofficial mascot, lol.

No problem banjo. I've seen some of yours and only made me want one more, so now I have my own. Hope you got a 2019 version!

Awesome Weez! Yeah, I can't wait to get it and see how the bit looks.

They sort of look like some farmer may have carved one with his trusty pen knife. They have a rustic look about them.

One reason I really like them. Look like a throwback to the bygone era of cobs.

That looks good for a cob. Thanks for the heads up

You're welcome seanv, hope you got to snag one!

Yeah, they went REALLY fast, but then, I don't know how many they had. Could have been 1,000, could have been 100. Maybe they'll put more up like they did with the St. Paddy's Day pipes. Those sold out of the first run in an afternoon, then they posted more a few days later. Just keep an eye out!

The Morgans have done a tremendous job in upgrading and marketing the Missouri Meerschaum line of pipes.

Many thanks! I'm not likely going to get this one, but a friend of mine wanted one and missed out on the first run. I just sent him a text, and boom. He got his.

Got mine yesterday, but after a long day at the office, I didn't get to smoke it until today. I love it! Fired it up with its inaugural smoke with some Black Frigate!

Just got mine today, wasn't expecting to get it that fast. Also pickuped a few softee bites for the 1st time and I like these alot. I clench alot and these make it even easier plus will save the stems on the pipes I care about.

Can't wait to get mine. These look great in my opinion. And the rubber bits are a life saver for me since I clinch so much. Just put in an order for more as I'm starting to chew a hole in some of the ones on my more frequently used pipes. As you said, protects the stem and makes clenching extremely comfortable. I throw them on every pipe I own pretty much.

And upon receiving this one, I'm going to do the same. One smoke and I already put a few teeth marks. Guessing these particular stems ain't as replaceable, so to the softee bits I go!

60 DOLLARS?!?!? Mine is still unsmoked with a softee bit attached asking $120 lol. But in all seriousness, who is gonna pay 60 bucks for a cob?

Uh, yeah, that's a bit steep. I once saw one of the MM Reverse Calabash pipes on there going for $100. Now I could maybe see one of those going for $100 if one wanted it badly enough, but it's a larger pipe and a little harder to come by.

I have received 2 last week...I have noticed the Tenon is very loose on 1, as I needed to spread Model cement to
build up the Tenon thickness. Coat the Tenon with Bee's wax and we are good.

I emailed MM and asked the question about when, or if, there would be more bullies on the way?
The answer I got is that maybe not so much. The bully is hard to get right with a plug in the bottom of the bowl.
I did not get the idea that there would be more in the bull market, but that other creative versions were coming to celebrate the company's 150th anniversary.

I spoke with Phil Morgan on Sunday. There will be two more bulldog models released this year. At least one will have a traditional diamond shank.

He also told me that the stems, bands and shanks on the bulldogs they've been selling are 40+ years old. It's basically the same material that's used in most of their current amber-colored plastic stems, but due to their age, they're a bit more brittle. He said that soon they will have an updated stem which they'll provide to customers who run into difficulty with their stems.

Good(I will be calling when released)...As the tenon on my 2 are too small and loose. I had 2 bowls last night...I noticed
the Daft Hole is larger then other MM's...which for me I need to draw slower to have a satisfying smoke. Let's see about the other releases.

MODS: If you can delete my other post, I'd appreciate it...don't want to clutter up the place.

My stem is a tiny bit crooked. Looks like the mortise was drilled a bit out of line, but it still smokes just great to me.

That's a good looking mod on a cob.
