Back at the pine tree after my weekly ivIG infusion. This Morta pipe with black bamboo shank and tortoise shell stem by Zack Hamric was responsible for my love affair with a tortoise shell stem coupled with Morta, Zack calls this the Beetle. Now keeping it smokey with Virginia no. 1 by Mac Baren. Dressed for the change in temperature, it’s 45f.

When I first saw the title I thought you had bought a Volkswagen! Nice pipe though, and Zack really makes some beautiful pipes!

Love the scoopy rim and bands on the bamboo. I might have to start a thread on VW's.

Really nice pipe there. I admire the artistry of it and see the appeal of morta. Are those the old growth rings? Incredible to imagine how many years those rings represent and how long ago they formed.
