Saw George at the Montreal Jazz Festival some years ago. Great show. A funny thing was that they misspelled his name on the t-shirts and sold those for $5. I still have one or two around here somewhere.

I seem to remember something about him once trying to be a baseball player , lucky for us he is a better detroyer of the guitar .

Oh wow I didn't realize I have been on here that long. Just at the 2000 mark as well. Pretty cool. I honestly don't care a whole lot about the status. I just like reminiscing of all I gained. Thanks Kevin for a great website.

Baron have you seen them live? I heard they were awesome. I'm so close to where Bonnaroo takes place and they have played there. I need to go one year.

I saw them at the flood zone in richmond way back in the day and I know some guys who open for them. I actually worked in a t-shirt factory with Danyell's brother.

I'd vote for Steely Dan, unless it's early Miles. Don't care for his later stuff.

Tonight is my Monday...My "weekend" (Tuesday & Wednesday Night) was great, got to take my sons to school, ones in preschool the other in Kindergarden, my oldest got 2 awards in school today, He was really excited...I bought him a surprise, these toys called The Trash Pack- its a plastic garbage can with a plastic "creature" in it, he LOVED THEM, carried them around with him for the past 2 days!

Now back at the grind, trying to stay awake, drinking coffee and energy drinks, smoking cigarettes (no pipes at work) when I get that "damn my eyes wont stay open feeling"

When i first moved into my current house i would get regular visits from various religious ppl trying to spread the word. I would stand and talk to them for a few minutes then ask them if they would be interested in coming to a Satanic meeting i am holding and offer them a home made leaflet with 9 satanic sins i found online printed on them.

The look of horror i would get from some of them as they headed off down the path with me following with my arm outstretched.

Funny how i don't get them calling anymore

Driving home from a friends house, my buddy and I are shooting the shit and enjoying the night. We were thinking about retiring to my porch for a late night pipe. Sitting at a stop light, the light changes and there's a sudden loud "BANG!" on the side of the car, and we're doused in icy cold wetness. Yup. Some clever asshole decided to throw his drink at the car, and it spilled in the cabin.

Nothing was damaged, no one was hurt, but it certainly soured the mood.

So now I sit at my computer, sullen and wet; about to go to bed, my opinion of humanity lowered.

    Tomorrow will be better.

Yup. Some clever asshole decided to throw his drink at the car, and it spilled in the cabin.

Some guy that looked surprisingly like Ron Jeremy threw a full jumbo sized soda on my buddy's windshield at a stoplight once back in the 90s.

Road rage is one of the banes of modern society. Right up there with paper cuts and Geico commercials.

I have been very sick all week. My TAD / PAD order shipped in this week from 3 vendors and all I could do was wait, wonder and wait some more, pure torture! But today I felt much better and smoked a little bit. Passed out on the couch early but now it's 4am and I can't sleep. So, got up, made some Stash Brand Spice Chai Tea and Loaded a Bowl of my own blend in a Nording Giant 4.4oz Freehand. Blend is -
    Stockbye - Optimum
    Peterson's - Nutty Cut
    Bob's Chocolate Flake
    H&H Anniversary Kake
    mixed well and smoking great!

Don't know what I would do if I had to live in an apartment. Between being a musician, keeping odd hours, smoking and brewing I'd either be evicted or go crazy.

Baron please don't shoot my band in the face.

Man cannot survive except through his mind. He comes on earth unarmed. His brain is his only weapon. But the mind is an attribute of the individual, there is no such thing as a collective brain. The man who thinks must think and act on his own. The reasoning mind cannot work under any form of compulsion. It cannot not be subordinated to the needs, opinions, or wishes of others. It is not an object of sacrifice. ~ Howard Roark (The Fountainhead ~ Ayn Rand 1943)

I hope that my participation in this tread will not cause any problems, since it not midnight yet here on the West Coast… .
So, at 23:17 PST, I am still at work and no joy will be had until at least 00:25 – by then I will be home, relaxing with a “2 finger” glass of scotch (this week it is Cutty Sark) on ice and a bowl full of something tasty, like a Va.

It's midnight under a cloudy Texas night sky and I'm sipping some tasty stoved VA out of a 43 year old Dunhill. All I need is some 15 year old Scotch...

No Scotch here - but I do have a nearly full bottle of Jameson 12 year somewhere - if I can find where my lady put it. The grand kids came to visit a few weeks ago and she does that. And she's away. Oh well.

Who knew I'd have my own philosophic discipline one day?

My teachers will have to eat their words now!

How's the Dunhill smokin? What is Black Shag? I know I could read a review but I enjoy your descriptions quite a bit.

Smoked great and cleaned up great. The oxidation on the stem still bothers me, but I'll have to address that later.

McClellands Black Shag is a pure stoved Virginia shag cut blend. It is smoother and has way more flavor than you would expect from a straight VA. Belgian Mick introduced me to it. Totally worth trying a tin if you like VA blends.

Well no luck finding the Jameson's. My last smoke of the night: My own virginia and Izmir in an Ashton Pebble Grain Patent XXX billiard.

Sherlock Holmes allegedly smoked Black Shag -- he kept it in a slipper hung on the fireplace mantel (I suppose he liked it dry).

I'll add it to the bucket list.
