I am too old school for any of that, thanks though
Haha alright no worries
Getting late especially since I got up at 5 on Mondat morning.

Been busy working around the house last couple of days. It's early for me, but I'm beat and hitting the sack. Have a great night everyone!
Right about this time 11 years ago, I was all alone in a music store, counting down the safe and thinking about a bottle of McClellands I had at home. I had been uneasy all day and didn't know why. Could have been finally going back to school at 28, Could have been that I was adjusting to becoming single again. Lot of shit. What I do know is that when I showed up for class later that morning the whole world was going tits up. I won't forget. I can't. What boggles my mind is that the kids who are starting college now were little more than toddlers when all that went down.
Great observation Baron.
I'll take some time to reflect today.

Well I was in 2nd grade when 9/11 happened and my graduating class from high school was this last school year. So we were 7ish when this happened. I remember it pretty vividly, my parents kept me home that day and I remember watching the news. . A terrible terrible day. 9/11 is actually one of the reasons I decided to enlist in the Marine Corps.
God bless
Gunnar
My daughter was 6. She'll be 18 this year.
I was a consultant designing and developing training for a client (Frito Lay). I was going to be late to work and called my boss to tell her. She was at D/FW airport and couldn't take off. No one got any work done. The weirdest part was driving home south down the tollway and realizing how eerily quiet it was, because there was nothing flying. That is, except for a lone, low F-16 I saw humping fast not on a regular flight path towards the airport.
I was shaving, getting ready to go to work, when I saw the news of the first tower strike. Called my wife to the small TV set I was watching, and watched the second tower get hit. The series of emotions during the next several hours were something I'll never forget. Got to work and had to console many of my coworkers who just couldn't accept the horror and the implications. I was a mission pilot with the Civil Air Patrol at the time and was called to fly blood transfers during the next several days (we and the military were the only planes in the air). Never forget....

I'm here too!
Just signed up, lurking for a month and decided to join in. Smoking my smallest pipe with a bowl of Old Dublin and pipe, with a bowl bowl of Old Dublin, just home from a homebrew meeting.Think my Meerschaum with some Mac navy flake next. Drinking tea and soda water.
Wonder if by chance "information" would have those ladies phone numbers?
In from work and a quick dinner and now on the forum... Morning all...

This could be redundant, but I'm almost always here after midnight ..... midnight by reckoning of the East Coast. In Alaska it's only 8 pm then. I'm a little late lurking tonight, it's about 45 minutes shy of midnight here, some of you guys might be waking to go to work and the such.
Stuffing some Lancer's Slices in a Pete Aran and winding down with some Peppermint Tea

Evening all Been Absent for awhile. Popped back in to catch up on what I have been missing. Good to see the place still rocking and rolling.
Welcome back, Sean. You've been missed.
Thanks Phillip, good to see some people still here and contributing to the genial atmosphere.
Hey Sean! It has been a while!
Hobie, get a 2 hour loop of thunderstorms. I used to use that and it really helped me sleep. Ambien does the trick, too, but don't ever drink alcohol with it.
Hey Sean! We have missed you.
How are things?
Melatonin works very well. Zero side effects.
It's found naturally in every living thing on the planet.
Very chill Hobie. Very chill.
Valarian root works well, too, but it smells like ass.
Hey guys! things are good in my neck of the world Thanks for asking Lawrence
My favourite method is a book I have read a thousand times already; LOTR I read a couple of pages and then the eyes give up a ghost and then off to sleepy land I go.
Hi everyone. It's about 11:40 here in AZ. I thought I'd have a smoke before bed. Smoking MccLelland Captain Cool tonight. I tried a different packing method, since I was having a little trouble keeping bowl lit. I did the first two steps of the three step method, then on the last step I packed quite a large wad into the bowl, lit it and had a 30 minute smoke while only relighting once. Progress.
That's great Sean, I'm glad to hear it.
In a similar vein to Seanz' recommendation... I like to play a Sherlock Holmes Mystery audio book from Librivox.org on my cell phone's MP3 player turned down and put it under my pillow. Some of my favorites are The Musgrave Ritual, Silver Blaze, and The Priory School. If I choose something like The Hound of the Baskervilles, I'll have to listen every night for a week because I'll only make it a chapter or two at the most before I'm out like a light.
Well, now I feel like part of an exclusive club. I'm working a late night content deployment to spare my east coast team mates. Of course, an important server isn't working and I'm killing time while waiting for it to come back. I do wish I was able to smoke a pipe while all of this is going on. At least I get to sleep in tomorrow - after this, I'm on holidays until the 24th!
Going to a country wedding then a camping trip; there will be plenty of pipes smoked to be sure!
I now know why Hobie has nightmares. He saw this commercial.
Great! Now I'm going have nightmares.
Ok I made it . Had to chase after my daughters boyfriend with a 12 gauge for bringing her home late . What did I miss .
Okaaay That
was slightly disturbing
Pretty quiet here tonight, so not much, Ig.
I'm lighting up a small bowl of Klompen Kloggen in a Sav Bing, then I'll be off to bed.
Just giving people nightmares.

Nighters, everyone
Well I am Up late. I just finished a bowl of Old Dark Fired drank 6 different liqueurs, and played a board game called Mansion of Madness. I think I should go to sleep. I have been up since 5am mountain time.

Not quite midnight yet but been a while since I checked in. Smoking my second Padron cigar of the evening. I only smoke cigars once a year or less but my first one tonight was so good I decided to have another. Sitting out back by the fire on a cool autumn evening.
Great minds think alike ,I had a Padron curley top after lunch today . Now back to the Sillems Copenhagen in the Nording .

And I think it's time for me to hit the rack! Good night Gents!
It's Lauren Bacall's birthday!
Dang! Missed roll call again. Was out on the deck enjoying a 5 Vegas Torpedo cigar with a glass of Black Bush. Came in, had a bowl of Haddo's Delight in a meer, then checked in... and found myself late, again...
Checotah... that Haddo's Delight will do that... make you late.
