What Ho! What Ho! What Ho!
I am around too! Indeed, I am back from- well, not a Hiatus- but a length of time in which I didn't show up!
How is everybody?
Quiet night. Gonna have a beer and another smoke before bed. A Sam Latitude 48 IPA and some Blackwoods Flake in an Ashton Pebble Grain apple.
Yep. Quite Quiet.
I can never decide what to smoke. I think I may go with some Anniversary Kake. Perhaps some Grey Havens.
I may go with orlik tonight, maybe a cigar.....hmmmm
I do love Orlik. However I ruined my 3/4 tin a couple months ago.
And that is why you never try to rehydrate without doing research.
"Oh no! I left my tin of Golden Sliced open all night!" Said I.
"I know, I heard something about putting a Damp Paper Towel over it! Sounds Easy Enough!" Said I.
**A DAY PASSES**
"AGH! I forgot about the Golden Sliced!"
*Runs to check*
The Golden Sliced has swollen to twice it's size and turned brown.
"Oh God no!"
Long story slightly shorter- it was ruined.
Polishing off Anniversary dinner leftovers. Porterhouse and potatoes.
Sounds Good, Baron!
I had some Enchiladas earlier. Surprisingly good- considering they were frozen. (Not really in the same ballpark is it? Haha)
I never have a problem being happy with food as long as there is enough.

Those are some wise words, Indeed!
I, myself, am a proponent of Tolkien's Quote:
"If more of us valued food and cheer above hoarded gold, it would be a much merrier world."
Of course a good pipe never hurt, either!
You can ask my wife. When she suggests a vacation spot I plan our trip around the best local food!
You may be tired lost and confused, but you will eat like a king!
Haha! Sounds good to me!
Once my wife was upset that I had not made reservations for our Anniversary dinner and we were on Grand Cayman. I told her to have faith and took her to a place right on the beach, where the food was cooked by a Caymanian family from their home and had a postcard perfect vista. Fish caught 50 feet away that morning and Calamari so tender it almost couldn't be believed and all for the price of a working man's lunch!
Although Eric Ripert has a restaurant down there and it is probably badass.
Haha -- I lived in Europe for five years and my family reminisces on the things we saw, the boat ride in the canals of Venice, etc. I, on the other hand, remember the places by the great meals I had
Baron you and I would get along. One of my favorite things to do is trying new food. Eating someone's food in an unfamiliar area really connects you to the place.

Bowing out for bed. Have a great night everyone!
Yee Hah!
Got a heads up from a member here about this pipe, so I included it in a tobacco order tonight.
A Brebbia Pura, nice grain with a cumberland rubber stem. Had to do it
Very nice Brebbia!
Nice, man! Gotta love that PAD!

So, gents, I would like to join the after midnight club, but it is only 22:32 PST, and I have no wish to break any rules… may I join before midnight? Please let me know.....
Like I always say, It's midnight somewhere...
any of you fine people ever shop at http://www.briarblues.com? if so, your comments/opinions would be appreciated...
Hey all! I hope the Late Night Crew is all well tonight. Baron, how did that new job lead in another state work out? Are you moving or staying put? Hope I'm not being too nosy but thought from your posts that your current employers were being dorks.
Briar Blues is a good outfit not my regular vendor but they are ok by me .
I like this tune .
PS Bullseye Lux Flake in a scoot, cold beer, listening to Glen Miller. The old cajun
@ stanwellman I haven't personally bought any pipes from Mike @ briar blues but people that I know, have and say he's a good guy. and he has some pretty nice pipes on his site, doesn't he?
Only 10:45 here in AZ. It's my Birthday for another 75 minutes. Only this morning I was anticipating my tin of H&H Marquee Black House to have shipped from pipesandcigars.com, but I was told that it is still out of stock. Apparently it is hard to keep in stock. Could this be the work of the infamous baronsamedi and his gang of Blackbloods? Hmmm...
I haven't personally purchased anything from BriarBlues, but a few pipe friends have done business with him and have been happy. Mike's been at this a long time and has a good reputation. As always, especially if the pipe(s) your considering is/are pricey, ask for more info (draw, pipe cleaner pass, drilling, etc.) and more pictures. That will better ensure you'll be pleased when your purchase arrives. Surprises are for birthdays.
Happy Birthday Ronin .
Thanks, Igloo
Same Ronin The old cajun
Np what are you smokin . Tonight I am having Sillems Musketeer in a Gepetto with a diet Mr Pibb
Hope you had a good day (out-of-stock BH @ P&C excepted), Ronin.
morton - that he does, and a great variety...
Had a great day, Rothnh. My kids made me dinner. I had a pre dinner bowl of 1Q, and an after dinner bowl of Molto Dolce. Would have been perfect but the ex showed up halfway through dinner to drop off some stuff for my daughter. Oh, well. It's all good though. Me and my kids and my pipe. Oh, and some Glenlivet 18 year old.
Morton, I'm still going through the process. My wife has a strong lead, too. We still fully plan on going. We even told our realtor to get ready to sell our rental house once the tenants lease is up.
Thinning out around 2 am.

Ronin:
You had an excellent day, friend!
Your kids, a couple of bowls and a homemade meal.
Really good liquor cancels out the ex'es in our life each and every time.
Many happy returns of the day.

Ah! Some may remember me saying I ruined a tin of Golden Sliced a couple of days ago!
Well, yesterday I came across it again, and decided to try it- see if it got any better.
It did! I decided to try the Fold-and-Stuff method for the first time. It was Quite good!
However, after about an hour (!) it went out, and then the dreaded emptiness in my stomach harkened to the fact I had poisoned myself.
It was the second time it has happened to me in the 5 months I have been smoking- and boy, it still is not pleasant.
It caught me off guard- as well. I was under the impression that Golden Sliced was quite Mild. (It certainly never happened to me BEFORE I ruined it.
So I figure I could narrow it down to the following factors:
1.) The Fold-and-Stuff method had something to do with it.
2.) The Water from when I over-hydrated it some months back redistributed the Nicotine. (Could also account for the fact that it turned brown.)
3.) It just wasn't my night.
Anyway, enough Rambling.
Oh! I also FINALLY got those clay pipes that I asked for help picking out a couple months back! I will get some pictures up soon. Thanks PipeNovelist for recommending pipeshoppe! They are Fantastic!
Penn Valley kicks ass and I love my clay pipes. Glad to hear that you are enjoying yours too. I have come to find that that English blends in a clay are just tasty to death. Clays are about the only medium for my English blends anymore and the one that I actually smoke is getting some great patina to it. Ill try and take a pic of it sometime.

I ended up getting the Triple-Combo Elizabethan/Dutch Gouda/"Sherlock" English Tavern
Unfortunately my Mum broke my Elizabethan! Before I even got to try the Tambolaka that a nice fellow on /r/pipetobacco sent me! (I was waiting to try it in the Elizabethan because of how strong it supposedly is.)
I have been smoking up a storm with the English Tavern, and I have decided to try the Experiment that we talked about way-back-when.
So my Tavern is a dry-smoking Clay, and my Gouda shall be the one I dip in water before I smoke. I will keep you updated on the results!

Think it may be time for Eagle Rare Bourbon!
Ah! I made the list again! Excellent.
How is everybody this fine evening?
That sounds good, i might have a sazerac with some cumberland.
Here I am too! Signing in!
My word! A full house tonight!
Feeling great. Off work early and I'm home with the wife and dogs.
Always good!
I won a contest on /r/pipetobacco a couple of days ago and the goods arrived today!
Here is an album! It includes a picture of my new English Tavern pipe, as well.
So I have got some new blends to try!
