Over the last month I have gotten a lot of tobacco. Going off of memory here. Got all of it except the McClelland reserve and the Sam Gawith from smokingpipes.com Funny story about the Samuel Gawith. My girlfriend went to Portland for business and I asked her to stop by a tobacco shop if she had time. She called and said "I asked if they reccomended anything. The lady behind the counter said this Samuel Gawith stuff was pretty good and they only had 2oz left so I got it." Needless to say I was pumped. I've been wanting to try it for months but it has been sold out everywhere. Now I just have to wait to get out of work today so I can try it, time cant move fast enough.

I tried the 965" Dunhill Match last month, and I was pretty satisfied with it. Its not an exact match, but pretty close IMHO. In a blind test, I probably could pick the two differences, but its not flagrently obvious. I think the DH blend is a little smoother. I got some more of the match blend to cellar and see how it ages. In short, I like DH MM965, and if I couldn't get the origonal, this match version would do until I could. I have yet to try the DH EMP match blend. Maybe in next months TAD order.

The month is almost over so there are only three days left to order from Lil Brown with free shipping so I succumbed to TAD again and ordered 1lb of Zander Greg. Great now I have to find cheap mason jars to put this in.... such a good problem to have
It was recommended to me by a fellow piper who compared it to RLP-6 (the description also compares it to RLP-6). Hope its good but for this price who cares? lol

I scored a bunch of 1998 McClelland 27 tins from a tobacco shop near my crib. Cleaned the dude out. Probably 8 tins, sitting in a box below the counter. Guess I might keep a few and give the rest away as gifts.

rickpal14- I won't order from P&C/Habana because the stupid taxes in NY state. I'd love to visit someday when I'm in the neighborhood, but I think the thrift-side of me would prevent me from getting anything that I can order from other websites and NOT pay NYS ridiculous tobacco tax.
Last weekend I got a 100g tin of W.O. Larsen Sweet Aromatic which I immediately smoked and regretted. It was so dry it burned like tinder and I had to put my pipe down 3 or 4 times to cool it down. So I set about re-hydrating it and will try it again soon once I feel it is the proper moisture level for me.

As a New York State resident I agree that a guy is "SOL" if he wants to buy pipe tobacco or carry concealed. I'm waiting for Scotch and chewing gum to be outlawed. After all, being drunk with tooth decay is bad for your health. I'm sure our state legislators will find a way to raise revenues. Just think, tax chewing gum at the counter and then pass "gum laws" so a cop can issue summonses for driving while chewing.

Ooooooo! Smoke that Bag Piper's Dream, JC! It's my second favorite tobacco just behind Villiger 1888 Mid Day...but only JUST. I've yet to try any of the JFH blends and those two are at the top of the list from them.
I failed to post a few weeks ago that I got some Samuel Gawith Perfection, which I have to say is growing on me. The first few bowls were just OK, but the last two bowls have started to shine. It's not a great English, but it is certainly is a solid one. It does need some drying out though...
