I swore I wasn't going to order anything else until AFTER Christmas,...but I have NO, I repeat; NO self control!
Someone's been raiding the Stokkebye store!
That should keep you going for a while, igloo.

Some great pick ups guys. Unfortunately TAD cannot be cured.

you forgot northwoods

Hit the B&M again, and snagged 2 oz. of SG Fire Dance Flake (FDF).
-Jason
you forgot northwoods
That was a really big sin, not to order from Boswell and forget to partake in Northwoods.
Oh I should have 8oz of the Northwoods headed my way sometime soon. My brother is paying me back for helping him put up his fence, so no sin has been committed! Him telling me he was ordering the northwoods prompted me to order the other blends I have wanted to try!
Okay here is what I got over this weekend...

Two of the bags of Private Stock or headed to Bob and Lawrence!
Very nice Bubba!
A great set of pick ups Jeremiah. Hope they all taste great.
Got my first ever internet order today. Thank you, Rich - you were great. Waiting on some new cobs to arrive before I try my tobaccos; I want a clean start for them.
I'm excited to depart from Canadian drugstore tobaccos! All aromatics this round:
Gawith Hoggarth - Bob's Chocolate Flake
Gawith Hoggarth - Top Black Cherry
McClelland - Tastemaster
Dan - Da Vinci
As you can see I went with blends that have a reputation for quality, the reviews I've read have mostly been positive about all four. Got a little variety in the casings - chocolate, cherry, and red wine - hoping they smell and taste as good as they sound.
Just placed my next order. Let the TAD commence.
Looks like a very good start. There is no cure for TAD fortunately.
Thanks! I don't mind about TAD as long as my orders keep coming through and that pipe legislation dies in Congress.
I'm going to get two English blends and Va/Pers apiece next time; my first foray into natural tobaccos. I'm eager to find out which kinds I'll favour.
Haven't posted up recently...
2 weeks ago, I got:
3 oz. Dunhill's Standard Mixture
2 oz. SG FDF
This past week, I got:
4 oz. SG FDF
a tin of SG FVF (which brings me up to 2 unopened tins for the cellar, and one tins worth in a mason jar to smoke for the time being.)
-Jason
Nice set of pick ups Jason
Nice pick ups Jason, keep building that cellar! You have got to catch up
I just did the math and discovered, I have about 5 pounds in my stash. Most is in mason jars with a few in their tins. I figure at the rate I smoke, that should last me at least into the next decade... LOL!
-Jason
There you go! So if you get about 15 more pounds you can be set for the next 25-30 years
NEED MORE TOBACCO!!!!!! Must wait!! DONWANNA!!!!!!
Nice additions everyone! Keep building up those cellars!
Here's a first of the year order I put together from various sources, including my B&M. More of a restocking/filling out than a serious bout of random TAD ordering, I suppose. Except for the Pipeworks elements, it's all in the cellar or on the way. I have to remember to call Carole before work (time zones... this post is something of a reminder to self)
500g Rattray: Black Mallory
500g Escudo Navy de Luxe
150 g Peterson's Luxury Blend
150 g Peterson's Connoiseur's Choice
100g McClelland Easy Street
1 lb. Proper English
8 oz Sasha Plus
4 oz shortcut to mushrooms
1 lb. Wilke 193
8 oz Wilke 400
8 oz Grammercy Park
I expect I'll add some of Sterling's selections, once I've gotten through the sampling phase.
MCC Black Parrott , MAC BAREN Scottish Mixt ,MAC BAREN Vanilla Flake ,MCCONNELLS Scottish Flake x10 , 3Noggins x four lbs .
Just ordered in a fairly good order: G.L. Pease Maltese Falcon and Chelsea Morning, MacB Black Ambrosia, and Villiger 1888 Mid-Day. 100g of each, excepting the Mid-Day, of which I purchased 50g.
I wish I had the resources to purchase several pounds of tobacco, like some of y'all. Oh well...I have many, many years to cellar. Unless the gov't decides it wants to take away my rights.
Mmmm. Mid Day...
-Jason
TAD Hit hard today
4 Noggins for:
Escudo 50g
Orlik Golden 100g
Bald Headed Teacher 1#
Britt's Balkan 4oz
Essence of Vermont 8oz
Three Blind Moose 4oz
Just for Him - Shortcut to Mushrooms 1#
I hope these will cellar good at least a few years.....
Jim
Individual tins:
Escudo Navy Deluxe
Presbyterian Mixture
Gordon Pym
Dorisco Mixture
These are my first non-aromatic tobaccos. I enjoyed a bowl of Presbyterian earlier, though it will take me awhile to consciously appreciate the flavours. To put it simply, I liked it. I got Escudo to be my first VaPer, Pym to be my first taste of Syrian latakia, and Dorisco to be my first combination of Perique and Latakia at once. I have pipes dedicated to each style so I can get used to their particulars without any ghosting.
Got another order on the way, going to place a bigger one when it arrives.
My TAD struck harder this week than it has so far;
Starting at my local B&M, I bought a tin (50g) of Petersons Irish Flake with the atrocious marked price of $32.99...normally, I would have walked away, but I felt for the poor proprietor, so I caved.
Well, once I got home, I loaded up a flake, and enjoyed it so much, I hit up 4noggins for another 4 tins (200g - gotta love the Canadian import laws, eh?).
Since I was already there, I decided to place a couple more orders;
Order 2 (for the cellar):
4x 50g tins - Dan Tobacco Vanilla Honeydew
Order 3 (for sampling):
2oz - Bald Headed Teacher bulk
2oz - Peter Stokkebye Black Truffle bulk
2oz - Hearth and Home Butternut Burley bulk
Then, seeing as I was already on the net, I decided to try out a couple of tobacco's from Sterling, picking up (for immediate smoking). In a stretch of awesomeness, the proprietor is splitting this into two orders, and tossing in 2.5oz of his house blend with one.
2.5oz - My Buddy
2.5oz - Double Eagle
2.5oz - Club House
7 seas gold
orlik red
orlik dark kentucky
also got the other two blends of 7 seas but did not like
yuk/ a bit too rotten fruit for me
With the current frenzy of tobacco buying, I've been sitting on the
sidelines, since the past few years have been spent quietly building the
cellar... Then, I discovered I like the new Dunhill Deluxe Navy Rolls &
the Flake. OK, so after securing a few sleeves of each I still had the
itch. I pulled the trigger on a few bricks of Wessex Gold Brick.
This ought to do it for awhile....
Some very awesome pick ups guys. I see TAD is in full vigor here.

Oldmaus Said: I hope these will cellar good at least a few years.....
As long as you store them correctly, they will last for years and years. You can read my article for storing tobacco here:
Today the mailbox was a treasure chest for sure!
I'm a happy happy man!
One pound of pure heaven in a flake!
That is sweet Tommy! I am expecting a half of a pound of it myself
Opened my first tinned tobacco yesterday - Royal Yacht. Different than I expected (although very new so maybe didn't know what to expect). Enjoyed it, but need a couple more samples to make an informed decision.
Expecting delivery this afternoon (hopefully waiting for me at home already) of 7 Seas Gold and GL Pease Maltese Falcon.
I stopped in to my local B&M this afternoon to ask about the blend they recommneded a couple weeks back and learned it is in fact Lane 1Q, which I've enjoyed.
Suggestions on what to have tonight? 1Q, Royal Yacht, 7 Seas or Maltese Falcon?
Sean
Tommy,
Would you mind sharing where you got the Penzance?
Sean,
Try the 1Q, it will be a nice counter to Royal Yacht.
Thanks William. I'm actually excited about the 2 new ones, so I may go with new ones.
I'm trying to get a well rounded exposure to different types and blends as I'm interested in building the cellar at some point soon.
NOTE TO SELF: start having them shipped to the office rather than home. Wife arrives before me and this TAD may start becoming more apparent than I like!
Got lots of goodies today,
16oz of my beloved Irish Creme
8oz Mild Burley
8oz Old Companion
8oz Anniversary Cake
A tin of Mac Baren virginia flake -- to be opened upon graduation from univeristy
a tin of Oriental 996 -- to be opened upon repayment of my student loans
A tin of Dark Star that sounds a bit rattly and dry that I may have to open and make sure isn't dried out -- which will either result in smoking on the spot or stocking in a ball jar afterwards, to be smoked upon finding the girl I plan on marrying. Or if I do end up smoking it on the spot due to it being dried I suppose I'll replace it with something else for that occasion.
Okay I opened it and I suppose it was just the unique tinning that caused the sound -- perfectly moist and aeromatic tobacco. In fact, it smelled so fine without even thinking about it a chewed a small bit of it. . . which taught me a lesson I honestly thought I was done learning all over again. Just because it smells good does not mean I should eat it (anecdotally an example of this is when I absently bit a girl in high-school during a heavy-petting session because she smelled like strawberries) -- on the plus side it wasn't the most unpleasant thing I've put in my mouth this way -- which when you think about it is kinda sad. . ..
Anyway I'll have a bowl of this since it's open anyway and store the rest for that girl thing I mentioned a bit back heh heh. Well, I'll actually msoke a bit later. . . since my mouth kinda just tastes like toothpaste now.
Found a new Pipes Ltd. store in the mall of the town about 30 minutes away and they had Squadron Leader in bulk and C&D Super Balkan
Boy everyone is going to have to get a bigger cellar .
Nah I got slots of room
Received 10 tins of Escudo today which seems to have put me in the mood for a bit more.
Just ordered from pipesandcigars.com:
200g Early Morning Pipe
1lb Ten to Midnight
100g Grand Orientals: Drama Reserve
50g Grand Orientals: Yenidje Supreme
How do you like that Ten to Midnight obelus? Been thinking of getting some.
I think it is well worth the price (which is pretty terrific when you compare it with other similar quality/tasting tobacco)-- a nice medium strength latakia-rich blend that's kind of fun to play with. I'd tell you to order a couple of ounces and see if you like it, but the shipping costs will kill you; they more than double the price. Maybe work a bit into a larger order-- they do samplers, as you probably know-- but more fun to put your own together.
I stopped by Goodfellas today and grabbed a tin of Solani X Sweet Mystery and a 25g bag of McClelland Raspberry Cream. I've been dying to try the Solani ever since I ran out of PS Black Currant Cavendish.
Simon

I also had the folks at smokingpipes.com put me on a waiting list for some Dunhill and Peterson tins. Though they said it would be about 2 weeks before they got more. The new stuff should keep me occupied until then.
Nice pick ups everyone!
I also really like the H&H Ten to Midnight. You can read my review of it at LuxuryTobaccoReviews.com here:
