I was in my local B&M McCranies Pipes and Tobacco in Charlotte today and wala. a table full of Comoys, GBD, and Jobey's all from the 60's and 70's new in the box. While I am partial to large blasted and rusticated bowls I could not help myself when I put my hands on this beauty. They also had a bunch of private label pipes made by sheraton

Classic shape is right. I love Comoys, K9. They're one of the great English pipes and you'll get years of pleasure from that burner.
The Patina line was available in 1974 according to this catalog;

It could even be older, K9.
Good score.

Filled it full of Red Ribbon today and all I can say is WOW! I might have to go back to McCranies and pick up another old Comoy. For those of you too far to see them in person I see that they have listed some on Ebay today.

You were in the right place at the right time for sure. An 800 series Comoy is a treasure, especially in that XL Lovat Shape. Congrats.
