I got a check last week for my birthday and as is my custom immediately thought to double the amount from my resources. What use would I be to the pipe community if I didn't immediately think of spending it on tobacco and pipes? Latakia is the tobacco type least represented in my cellar, so I thought to buy Pease "Quiet Nights" and "Gaslight." But then I came upon the SPC blends, and the Special Reserve Blends "Mississippi River" and "Plum Pudding" caught my eye. Meanwhile I saw an estate Danish bent that I've had my eye on for a couple years. All told the birthday check would have to be multiplied by 10 to cover the items I wanted to buy.

I also thought to consider the many other fine latakia blends from other houses. Haven't bought anything yet! Ah, the covetous joy and frenzied mind of PAD and TAD! Budgets are meant to be broken!

If you can wait until IPSD on Feb 20th, your money will stretch farther because there will be sales.
