Went and picked up an ounce of four new tobaccos from Tobacco Cabana today, and my first corn cob pipe. The owner is super cool and knowledgeable. Anyone who takes his dog to work can't be all bad. Showed me all the pipes, even the $300-500 ones I can't afford. He had a great quote:

Pipe smoking is WAY better than religion. Pipe smoking is a uniter of people, a display of superior intellect, and has never caused any wars. It doesn't discriminate against black people, gay people, or women. It doesn't tell you how to behave or threaten you with eternal torture. Most rituals associated with smoking a pipe have actual effects on said smoking. And if you decide to quit smoking your pipe, no one tries to cut your head off.
I'll grant that it can cost you 10% of your income, though...
