I came across the P&C Match VIP blend, an aromatic described as the flavor of Sweet Birch. Is it supposed to be reminiscent of the flavor of Birch Beer soda pop? Can anyone enlighten me? Thanx,
Dave

The Lower Forty of Hill Country
VIP Pipe Mixture was produced by Lane Limited, and was described as follows by Mr. William Serad in his "Trial By Fire" column in the Fall 1999 issue of "Pipes and Tobaccos" magazine: "The box says it has a sweet birch flavor, and boy does it. It smells like a birch beer in the pouch and while smoking. It has a Burley base, some loose Virginia, and perhaps a little black cavendish. It is quite sweet, and consequently a bit warm. If they could only get a little cream in this, they would have a birch beer float. Give it a try, you Dutch Cavendish folk."
