I picked up an older Medico while in Illinois last month.

It has been delivering a surprisingly good smoke ... for $4! :D
There was a box of pipes at an antique mall and I grabbed this one along with a couple

of older Grabow's and a Yello-Bole that has the old clover stamp still (1938-1955?)
The darker stain pic is the real color, the other was flashed for the stamp:

That's encouraging. My stash of 9 unsmoked Medico Imported Briars has hope! I've got a beaut of a blasted bulldog with a yellow stem with an F on it that seems the gem of the batch.

sorry. no pics as of yet.

Waiting for something, but not sure what. I am intimidated to initiate a new bowl, other than my cobs. I've got more of those to christen, and am 'contented' with my rotation of estates for now.

I have a couple Medico briars that I cleaned up and they are very nice smokes.

They are not my prettiest pipes but they work quite well.

Nice pick up. The old Medico pipes are great smokers. If you can find one then I suggest you pick it up and give it a shot.
I picked this one up off ebay a short while back and its a very good smoker. It needs to be cleaned up a bit better but here is mine. From what I can gather this one was made between 1932-1955.

... used to the point of the chamber representing a burned out volcano.
Lol ... there were quite a few like that in the box!
That Yello-Bole that I picked up at the same time still has the original honey coating intact.

Looks like it was smoked 2-3 times at most. GH Brown Bogie is mighty delicious in it! :)

I like my Medico Medalist.

As I've mentioned before, my Jet Streams are great. The Gold Crest and VFQ lines have some winners.
You have to be a little luckier getting a good Medico than you would for a Kaywoodie. There must be thousands of Medicos on ebay so you definitely have a choice.
