Evening all. Got a Longchamp in lot of pipes I picked up. Never had one before so not quite sure what to do with the leather wrap on it. It has shrunk down from the rim and the front and rear stitching is separated. Now the leather feels firmly in place but not sure what to do. Leave it as is as part of the estate charm of it or what? Thanks

The leather is how the Longchamps are made.
As for cutting it off, it's a crapshoot. I've had leather covered Kaywoodies that looked like the moon there were so many fills when the leather was removed and I had one Kaywoodie that had gorgeous grain and no fills. Hope that helps.
