I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I do believe that my phone is listening to what I say for marketing purposes. And we all know that IG and Facebook keep tabs on our browsing history.

But, THIS! Now this one is just flat out wacky. I got this junk email today from a site called Overclockers. Before I had a chance to delete the message, I noticed a picture of dudes in silk robes smoking pipes. It is an advertisement for a musical or something. Apparently, the bots thought I would be interested because my search history often centers around pipes.

Neal, you're among friends here, there's no shame in revealing your fetish calendar.

I think you got that because of your interest in kinky tape my friend. The pipes are a coincidence.

I was told that's a pic of the Frigate crew on shore leave...taken at one of their club meetings in the Captain's den.

Personally, I don't want to know what went on either before or after the pic was taken.

I think the guy in the yachting cap didn't get the memo about the pirate theme on the Black Frigate.

@Brian. Nah; the beards are two tidy (and clean) and I don't see any cleaning fluid. Definitely not us on shore leave (or pillaging duty)

Definitely not the 'Frigate' crew. There's no unicorns! Besides... we wouldn't be caught dead wearing red silk robes. Ours would have been black.

    Not a conspiracy theorist???

Obviously you don’t listen to the animals.

Obviously I’m biased, but I think it’s great, Morty. It’s a bunch of *belches* pirates running around a *belches* pancreas. We don’t whitewash it, either, Morty. I mean, the pirates are really rapey.” - Rick & Morty

Yes, glad you're around again. And that photo tops the first one, hard to believe it could be done.

I know that you believe you understood what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Hey Beef, great to see you posting again. But I must say, those slippers make those dudes even more creepy...which I didn't think was possible.

    Neal, nice Mystery Science Theater.

    +1 LOL

I haven't seen MST in many, many years...but it was a hilarious show.

A lot of bands and other performance groups work hard to look unusual to underscore their creativity and freedom, or that's the concept anyway. I think the public has followed along at least in small ways, people in retirement getting tattooed for the first time and such. I read that a producer of high end outdoor vests has refused to sell the product to Wall Street banking corporations, who were using them as rewards to sales staff, etc., because the vest maker felt it was undermining their image. So it's a strange world. Now, I suspect that folks who have just adhered to old clothing habits of plaid shirts, Docker or Wranglers, and "running" shoes, now stand out as some sort of "thing" by default. Meantime, the jacket and tie set has taken to pulling on fleece jackets instead of suit or sports jackets, over their white shirts and ties. I attribute no meaning to this; I refuse.
