I am looking at a vintage Sterncrest LHS Rhodium, the silver band does not have LHS in the diamond, rather, it has a T. Also, it does not have "Imported briar" stamped on the briar. Any idea as to its vintage?

LHS pipes were made in Brooklyn, NY and were popular with GI's during WW II. They ceased production in about 1960. So, I'd say your pipe is from 1944-1960. BTW, the retail price for your pipe in 1944 was $5.00.

    Blowin' smoke since 1970.

Thanks papipeguy! The Sterncrest pipes I've seen before have the LHS insode the diamond, I've not seem one with the T inside the diamond. Any thoughts on what that represents?

If what I read is accurate you pipe was made from imported briar and the diamond logo was considered their top of the line. Here's what I found on pipedia.

Interesting information. I have a pipe with the same silver stamping.
On the shank it has LHS in a diamond with Sterncrest underneath it and imported briar on the opposite side of the shank. I was not sure when they were made.
    Thanks for posting.

Thank you for the replies! Was this pipe made with a stinger? The one I'm looking at does not have one.
