can anyone shed some light as to how pipe makers stamp the nomenclature on their briars?? I don"t have a clue how to get a small crisp stamp on a briar. Thanx for any help, L. Dog.

I have a machines stamp that I heat up for a few minutes with a torch and then it usually takes to the briar right away. But, it has to be super hot otherwise it's a pain in the rear.

Paul (A&M Stamps) is the go to guy in the industry.

Most makers just push the stamp into the wood by hand, but hard enough to mark it. The factories have tools/machines to hold the stamps.
