Did you eat it? My Dad makes soup out of those or fries it, trick is to pressure cook it to tenderize the meat, though they say they are becoming endangered they aren't on the list yet. Thing is probably over 100 years old. Alligator Snapping Turtle.

I run into snapping turtles quite a lot, but that is the biggest one I've seen. Cool!

It will have a home with the Wildlife and Fisheries Zoo, it would be a shame to kill him, he's over a 100 yrs old.

I say eat it! That's a big SOB! We've got some pretty big ones here in SE Tennessee as well. I've never eaten one myself, but I know people who do, and they say they're pretty good.

I would eat one if it was presented to me. I'll try anything once!
