I’d saved my empty tins from when I was smoking something other than PA and CH. I’m missing the good stuff so today I dumped all the crumbs left in those tins and got 1-1/2 pipes worth. Now I remember what I’ve been missing! Components were mostly from heavier Latakia blends.

I used to keep a scrap's jar for that purpose, plus the pinch or so at the bottom of ziplock bags I had on the go. I enjoy the guessing game of what you are smoking, sometimes it is very obvious which blend/brand's leaf you have just hit.

Personal taste. I like to use the end bits of a tin with one other blend, as a sort of condiment or topping. When I throw all the leavings together, I've gotten a rather muddy taste, or in some cases a pretty harsh smoke. But it's a lottery, and you can come up lucky.

I just throw remnants on top of the same blend when I open another tin.
