It was a great show. Well my first show but I was in awe. I really enjoyed talking to Maxim and Briarbird. They are both really great guys. Good time! I didn't want to leave.
Briarbird with awesome Cumberland stem. Great smoker!

Ashton XXX Pebble Grain 211 - from Maxim at pipes2smoke. Perfect size. Beautiful eggplant looking stain. Another great smoker!

Some TAD and samples. I love samples! Childhood's End and Bilbo's Blend were the two pipe show blends. Both GL Pease.

Thanks Grizz. Sweet Hackert Hawk. That looks light enough to take on your run tonight!

Yea it looks pretty big. It's a very nice looking nose warmer though. Running and beer doesn't sound like a good combo. She probably didn't want to nurse bloody kneecaps tonight.

My mission down to Dublin was to meet Jason (aka briarbird) he's a great guy! I picked up the Magpie. Also a little Brebbia Go-Go that I've been wanting. A few tins of tobac, a chunk of carnuba and met Fred Hanna and got a signed copy of his book. A fine day for sure. I must have missed some of you guys that were there but I'm sure we bumped elbows anyway.

All nice pick ups...the closest show is in Las Vegas...and I'm in SJ...not sure if i'll ever be able to make it to a show...That Childhoods End seem strange for a name of tobacco...

I wasn't able to hang out at the show but I decided I couldn't miss it either. Turned out to be a great choice on my part to at least pay a quick visit. Here's what I ended up leaving with:

The pipe is a Claude Romain and the C&D/Two Friends tins are: Meridian,Valle Crusis,English Chocolate, Quiet Nights and then I grabbed up what was left of the sample tin of Celtic Mist for a bargain. All except Celtic Mist are new to me. Also got some wax and a tool not shown. I've had my first bowl in the new pipe (Quiet Nights) and really enjoyed how it smoked.

As this is the thread dedicated to our newest acquisitions, here are mine.
Sam Learned Brandy. Sam isn't making pipes any more (but I think he's still with us) but he was always known for his horn adornments. This estate has been BARELY smoked and I got it for a great price from Barclay (Columbus pipe shop).

Abe Herbaugh is a new carver from West Virginia and I think his work is VERY impressive. I just wish he would have left the rim smooth with a contrasting stain. Oh well, the kid's still learning.

I don't see Jody Davis estates very often, but I couldn't pass up this Abbot-class freehand.

Finally, this Saucer from Nate King is just wacky. The lines remind me of the star ship Enterprise.

Those are amazing pics, guys! Color my jealous! Someday I'll make it to a show. Not sure my wallet and bank account will like it though. I was really blown away with groundsar's new Claude Romain and bigvan's Jody Davis and Nate King pipes. Some seriously awesome shapes there. Thanks for the reports, gang! Those of us that couldn't make it appreciate it!
