My wife wants me to get a short fat pipe. Why? I have no idea but I must oblige!. She likes the Lomma smooth tomato, but it is fairly pricey at about $500.
Any other suggestions?

That's a good looking pipe! If your wife approves, assuming she saw the price, go for it!! If you're worried about the amount throw it on the credit card! Buy now, pay later, there couldn't possibly be a downside to that!

I'd get a moderately priced fat pipe first, and see if you like it. If you're going into the hundreds on a pipe,

I'd get something you are sure you like. I think Chacom has some chubbies that would serve as a test and

not cost so much. But that's just me. If your wife is really game for this, maybe just do it and see how it goes.

I bet you could sell T-shirts with that slogan in every smoke shop in the world. :D
BTW, I am not short.
(to the OP, listen to your wife, they know these things.)

That is a nice pipe and I have heard good things about lomma pipes but if it were me I would keep looking. I am sure many american artisan pipe makers like Thomas James, Joe Nelson (Old Nellie), Scot Thile, Ryan Alden, Nate King, Briar Bird (Jason Cochey) and others would make you the pipe style of your choosing and probably save you some money in the mean time.

I like to think that we've evolved enough as a society where we could see past a pipes hight and weight!! It's not a pipes physical appearance that defines who it is, but it's the soul, how a pipe spends its time, deals with conflict, tis these things that define a pipe... Be it tall and skinny or short and fat.... These things matter not, no more than a pipes color! Don't look down or up at a pipe, be it short n fat or dark or light. Pipes of all types are all pipes.
