Hi,

I am getting ready to deep clean a few estate pipes, and will be ordering some pipe cleaning supplies. I am wondering how long a shank brush will last, or how many pipes you can clean with the same shank brush?

The last estate pipe I cleaned had a pretty dirty shank, and I went through dozens of bristle and plain pipe cleaners with alcohol to get it clean, but have not used a bristle shank brush before.

Thank you!

I dip my brush in strong rum before cleaning and rinse it off after so I use it between all my pipes with no ill affect. I generally will throw out a brush after it changes color to a dark brown just cause it's cheap and it starts grossing me out. lol

They wear pretty quickly. I use them sometimes, but bristle pipe cleaners are my go to. I cut the dirty part off a cleaner and use it until it's too short. I also sometimes double them up and use both ends.
