G.L. Pease Abingdon is my favorite tobacco of this type. I taste more oriental in it than Westminster, another Latakia forward tobacco.
I would start with Nightcap as a good neutral middle, and branch out from there. Or My Mixture 965, which is just... like the best starting point for Englishes ever.
I second the advice of beginning your journey with nightcap. Do not fear the Vitamin N. Blackhouse is an excellent lat blend as well with the orientals really being a nice supplementary note instead of a forward expression. Have you tried the almighty Penzance?

Try the affordable and always available Balkan Sasieni. It's light enough to almost be a cross-over blend yet will still give you a very satisfying smoke.
We're blessed, stateside, to have this Pandora's box/cornucopia of Lat forward blends ranging from seven to fifteen bucks a tin. A smoker could huff a different blend a day for weeks on end and not destroy a wallet trying everything available. (PZ excluded.)
