I'm quite new piper so please excuse me if it's silly post. I tried cleaning my new pipe (smoked it 3 times) with Savinelli pipe polish and I was surprised that there was some brown color on the cloth (like I removed some color from the pipe) - I have Mastro de Paja Castanea 02 (so not that cheap of a pipe). I also tried on my Viprati rustic with just a bit of water on a cloth and same thing. Is it normal ? I also tried to remove black smoke from the rim with magic sponge and it worked very nice but also there was this brown color coming off :(.

That's a "benefit" of Savinelli polish. I have a bottle, mostly unused, since I had the same experience of it subtracting color during the polish.
