Ok, so I'm now five days into recovery from back surgery and I'm totally stir crazy.

Being a habitual "gotta be doing something" kind of person I find that sitting around the house without spending time in my garage tinkering, sucks. Not to mention I need to be doing some Bushog work around the edges of a couple of my fields.

So I have some old pipes and I have some (lots of) time...

The pipe is a cheap antique store find, Royal Crown Windsor. It smokes pretty well. Anyone know who made these?

First, I rusticated the top half of the bowl then I removed the cheap looking shellac finish.

A little Feibings stain and there you have it. Black and Tan Bulldog.

It still needs a good buffing, especially the stem. maybe later today.

Regards, Lawson

On the right pipes, the dual finish looks excellent, and this is one of those. Quick healing to you, but don't push too hard and set yourself back. The pipe looks great.

I agree with mso........ On the right pipe the dual finish is indeed stunning, and that's a great looking pipe. I'm fairly certain the Royal Crown Windsors were made by Hardcastle.

Take it easy while your back heals.......... enjoy the downtime!.......... :puffy:
