going to finish one of the estate homemade`s.hardest briar i ever rusticated. going to stain the bowel black and make the stem a different color.these pipes where made from scratch and have a great draw.i guess he died before he could finish it. it will be for sale when done.

I tried rusticating an old pipe once. Granted, I don't know the first thing about rusticating, but I was amazed at how difficult it was to do, and how crappy my work was. Ended up as a total loss, I threw the pipe in a box, never to be seen since.

i use a tool called a gouger. i will post a pick. you do it by hand. i also have used a dremel on some of my homemade`s.
