I saw a pipe on fleabay that struck me as rather fetching and I began to chase. Last night, after I'd gone to bed, I won an unsmoked Roma Select Natural Freehand sitter with incredible grain patterns. I'm thinking that it's almost too nice to spoil by using it. So pretty. I've seen the Savenelli name associated with the Roma brand. Does anyone have info on Roma pipes?

Savinelli makes a line of pipes called "La Roma" and this isn't one of those. The logo is completely different from the Savinelli product. "Who Made That Pipe" lists several other contenders: La Rocco, Cavicchi, and Ferrari.

I'd appreciate a pdf download of that book. :D

Here's another Italian 'free hand'?...with appeal

The Savinelli Roma line are entry level pipes with a rusticated finish.

Yours is a great looking pipe but obviously not Savinelli. I've bought several pipes from that seller and been very happy with them.

Well, hearing positive feedback on the seller is encouraging. I was actually surprised to have won that pipe.

Not a Savinelli, but it looks like a well cut pipe in terms of the grain. You won it at a reasonable price, and if you like it, that is what is most important. A very good seller, I bougt a pipe from them, absolutely no problems.

I thought that Roma pipes were originally Savinelli seconds that later on became their own line of pipes; however, I can't recall where I saw that at. Maybe it was my tobacconist that told me that but I can't recall for sure.
