Good for you, and good luck with your effort! I lived in Rochester from 2006 - 2010, and patronized a tobacco shop in the Miracle Mile shopping center which sometimes surprised me with its selection of pipe-tobaccos, although it was certainly not a pipe-shop, per se.

I was president of a club in LaCrosse WI, we had a 3 year run but then the interest fizzled out. I'm about 30 mins away from Rochester. Wouldn't mind attending some "meetings". A proper year round smoking location would be needed, especially in the Winter months.
+1 on the year around smoking location. Between two little kids and the winters here, sometimes I smoke about as often as Haleys comet comes around!
Thank you everyone! I'll see what I can come up with. There are a few smoke shops here in town that may have a room available or find a centralized location to make travel easier for everyone. Otherwise, I may need to invest in an insulated smoke shack as my hobby is an outdoor one as yet.
Maybe we should start a mini pipe show-type gathering monthly, or quarterly, at Treasure Island Casino between the cities and Rochester!
Perhaps quarterly and we could keep it outdoors. March, June, September, and November? Perhaps the first in September in Red Wing?
If your willing to drive that far the GNPC meetings in St Paul might interest you. I drive up to their pipe shows and swaps and sometimes ClickClick and his Dad join me in the fun.

I travel to the Cities at least once a month already and if I could make it work on the same trip I would definitely attend. Otherwise, I'll post here whatever works out so that everyone is aware.
daveinlax- I'd be very interested in the St. Paul meetings. When do you meet/how does one find the schedule?

Thanks huntertrw. I actually found GNPC's website, and it looks like they have a monthly meeting at a tobacco store up there. I've been by Lewis Pipe a couple times, but darn it its always on a Sunday when they are closed!

I just checked the Website of the Great Northern Pipe Club, and was pleasantly surprised to find that they meet at Golden Leaf Tobacco in St. Paul. As a former resident of Rochester, I used to shop there on occasion, and still have some of their Rum Toddy (M-40) blend in my cellar.

Sounds like a great place to check out hunter. I can be standing in downtown MSP in about an hour and 10 minutes from where I live...I've put the July meeting on my calendar so will plan to drive up after church, and be home in time to put the kids to bed!
