If you're a jazz fan, you'll know who Ed was. Although he retired from music almost 20 years ago, he still has very few, if any, equals.

I just read about him. Nothing more amazing than a great jazz guitarist. He sounded like an amazing musician.
Also, one who didn't seek the limelight and touring life traditionally lived by musicians.
RIP

I love jazz guitar. It’s great to have a pipe and listen to those sounds. I’ve most certainly heard Ed as his sound is very much familiar. God speed.

I'll have to check out his work, sounds excellent. I enjoyed Les Paul and Mary Ford, even as a kid watching their short TV spots on WGN. These gave no clue either of Paul's fundamental technical developments on electric guitars and amps, nor his and Mary Ford's work in jazz. A lot of what they played on those shows was soft country with a jazz accent. They were probably in their thirties and production was ultra-sparse.
