The third pipe of my seven day set completed today. I realize this shape is not for everyone but I think the blast turned out incredibly well and I really like the unique look of this piece. Pipe #4 in the set will be a Bent Brandy.
Dimensions are:
Overall: 2 x 5 7/8
Bowl: 3/4 x 1 3/4
Weight: 36 grams
The stem is cumberland with an inlay of spalted tamarind.

Here are links to the first two in the set:

Before anyone thinks that we messed up the color of this one let me assure you that the orangish shade is just a result of the camera lighting. The actual Double Mahogany stain is more closely represented by the Dublin in the center. You can see in all three pics of the bowls below that the same background cloth Rad uses is a different shade as well.

Thanks guys. I can't wait!
Nicely going. You have some serious ring grain action going on there. Has #4 been commissioned? Do tell.
Yes pipe 4 & 5 have been commissioned.
Pipe 4 will be similar to Harris's Brandy here:

Pipe 5 will be a "Bing" similar to my first Rad Bing(and I believe Rad's first re-creation of the classic shape as well) here:

Very nice. I prefer this color over his other normal choices. I think it complements the cumberland the best.

I finally made it home to pick up this Rad Zulu. I also had some Brigham Klondike Gold waiting for me so I am trying both together for the first time today. I must say, this delicious combination puts a huge smile on my face. :puffy:

Chris, glad to hear you love your newest Rad, it sure is pretty. The Klondike is a perfect blend to break that puppy in. I cannot stop smoking that stuff, you can really tell it has been aged in the tin.

You better get a 7 day rack with the days of the week on it or you'll never be able to choose since I doubt the final 4 will be any less stunning, very, very nice!

I would love to have one of his pipes. I think if I had 7 I would act giddier than a kid in a candy store. Not that there is anything wrong with that .............

Thanks guys. Yaz, I hope you can obtain a Rad sometime in your pipe smoking journey. This will be my 10th Rad and yes I am giddy as a kid in a candy store. This is just my(and perhaps a few others) opinion but Rad offers the best value in the artisan market. Yes that is a biased statement. It's hard for me to shell out the cash to try more than the few artisan makers I have tried. The man knows how to engineer and carve a great pipe. Each and every one of my Rads smoke so incredibly well that I truly have to force myself to reach for something other than a Rad when smoking VA's and VA blends.
I enjoy a Latakia sometimes, and some Lakeland on more rare occasions when Bobs Chocolate Flake calls me(thanks Doug). Those blends have yet to see a Rad for me. Some other decent pipes do however. Eventually I may commission a few Rads to those rarely smoked blends just to see how much the experience is improved with Rad's impeccable skills. Now I finding myself wondering if Smokingpipes.com has that tiny group 2-3 Rad that I bet would be a Bob's Chocolate Flake smoking machine. Ghostly PAD strikes again!
