Picked up a new Rad Davis pipe. This is Rad's interpretation of the famed Castello 55 shape. My first Rad with a tan blast.

Sweet pipe. Love the blast, the cumberland and the stem treatment (birch?). Nice little package.

Congratulations on your new pipe. I hope you enjoy it for many years. I have 2 of his pipes in my collection so far.

I like the forward-jutting heel of the bowl; and the shank and stem flow nicely from it. Beautiful.

Thanks for posting the pix. I'm hoping you get many thousands of wonderful smokes from it.

I know you'll be endlessly fascinated by the look and feel of that marvelous blast!

peck, great score. I saw that one the minute it hit the site and thought that one is going to go real fast. That blast is killer. I am sure it will be a great smoker for you, congrats.
roth, Rad only uses the highest quality vulcanite for his stems. The inlay on the stem is Boxwood.

roth, I actually don't use the Obidisian on my Rad's except when they get the deep cleaning, they never need it. Now my older British vulcanite stems, I have to use it after every smoke or they turn freaking yellow and will taste like crap. It really is amazing at the difference between them.

I think my next pipe will be a Rad. Every single blast I have seen, I love. They really look like they are worth saving up for.
Does Rad just randomly add pipes to his online store? Or is there a certain day or time of month? I will be on the lookout for a blasted zulu!

I get updates from Rad on Fridays.
The Castello 55 shape has never been my favorite, but this is such an amazing blast it all just fits perfectly.
Well done, Peck!

I was wondering who got that. I don't have a 55 from Castello yet. I would love to try a Castello 55 and Rad 55 side by side one day just for fun. Congrats!

Any thoughts as to what I should devote this blend to? I smoke English blends and Vas. I have never fully understood what is the best type of pipe for VA blends. I am inclined to go with VA, but any thoughts as to whether that makes sense?
