Found this estate pipe in a rural California town. Cleaned it up and I like it a lot!
Was trying to identify where it may be from. It's a Marietti. Read where Marietti was a smoking accessory shop in Turin Italy but that's about all I can find. The stem is stamped with an M:
I also found this M. It's a second from Mauro Armellini. His shop was (is) also in Northern Italy.
Looks pretty close to me! Is it a stretch to think this could be an Amellini second? Do pipe companies use stem markings in this way? I doesn't really matter to me since I'll enjoy the pipe. Just trying to chase its history.
