I recently purchased a tin of mac Baren vanilla flake and love the stuff. I went to order more a little while ago and noticed that the flake comes only in 1.75 oz tins while the loose cut comes in 3.5 oz tins, with the latter being substantially cheaper per oz. Is there a difference in tobacco blend between these too and does the form of each have a different effect on flavor?

It's the same tobacco produced at the same time. The only difference I ever noticed is that the flake seems to have a little deeper flavor because the ready rubbed tobacco is exposed to more air than the flake. But, it's not that big a difference.

Jim-
I ordered 1oz of sutliff vanilla custard with the mac Baren vanilla based on your review. My package arrived today and I just tried the vanilla custard. Man, this is some seriously tasty stuff. This ounce will be gone fast.
