I watched the first part the other morning. Interesting that none of the originals like the term “Punk” to be used to describe them and then it turned into a badge of pride. I didn’t get s chance to see any of the bands from the 70’s but was introduced to the scene in the 80’s. Loved going to shows. First one was the UK Subs when I was 15.

It's on Epix.

I grew up in the 70's (graduated 1979) but was a tad young to catch that NYC scene. The older girl next door (who I adored) was into 70's punk and glam, so I hung on every record she played. (Ramones, Dolls).
If you enjoy reading about the NYC music scene in the mid 70's, the book "Love Goes to Buildings on Fire" might be of interest.

I want to watch this but when I try my cable provider says I have to subscribe to this channel. Don’t really want to add to my already ridiculously large cable bill just for one show. Is there any alternative source for seeing it that anyone knows of?
