So ive been checkin ebay out for a new pipe and ive come across this guy called polinski. His pipes are very pretty but i cant find anything about him except a post on here but it just shows a picture of one of his pipes. I was wondering if any of you had an idea of the quality of his pipes or if im better of just getting a sav.

I found this site with his pipes. Not cheap but not outrageous either.

I have never heard of him. What kind of price range are you thinking about?

The ones i had been looking at are 69 plus shipping but thats buy it now. I thought they looked really pretty but id rather have something that smokes good than look good.

I don't know anything about him. His current pipes on eBay right now are quite stunning though. I didn't see any $69 Buy It Now prices. The ones I saw were $200+ & $300+. Maybe I am looking at the wrong pipe maker.

They look good. He's got a nice poker up for sale now. I can't really find anything about them but I didn't see any red flags either. Let us know what you find!

I personally would never buy a pipe from some no name on ebay. Be safe and buy a good Sav or Pete from one of our sponsors.

Savs and petes are out of a lot of our price ranges. But I do agree if you are gonna spend that much buy something you know has a good reputation.

    +1

The Polinski may be good - but ask yourself: do you want to risk that much money to be the first to find out?

Unless someone knowledgable here can vouch for them, I'd place my money on a safer bet: Savinelli, Peterson or Stanwell

I have been collecting pipes from all over the world for about 19 years. I bought a polinski "rock" free hand
and received it about two weeks ago, and i must say, for the money its an absolutely awesome pipe. The shipping wasnt
spot on fast, but it was worth the wait. I love sav's and petersons as well, but chance and variety are the spices of
    life!

    To "wolfie90":

Assuming you haven't yet decided on the Polinski pipe or not, hopefully this helps... (Echoing jjamiel) yes, he's/they're definitely on the level. I own two (2) pokers. The Ebay seller is "house_of_pipe". Delivery time was good. Within one week if I remember correctly. While I don't make it a practice to do what I call repeats, I liked the first one so much that I snapped up the "rock" (or blast) version a few weeks later. Just messaged them to ask about the "red" smooth finish version they listed the week of 10-Feb. Due to the popularity of the shape, the low starting price, and how good they looked in the photos, there was a degree of bidding competition. All in all well within my budget---~ $85 for the straight grain and $98 for the "rock".

While some of the freehands he produces look nice as well, I'm not curious enough about those to drop > $200. Better to spend that much on an estate Castello or a Former & Eltang.

    Best,

Thought I'd chime in with my latest addition... a Tadeusz Poliński from House of Pipe on eBay. So far, the flakes are smoldering sweetly in the bowl. Great draw and the construction is first class. The air hole through the shank is centered and clean. The mortise and stem fit perfectly. The listing read as follows:

    Tadeusz Poliński- Polish pipe maker
    HAND MADE - TYPE: ROCK
    WOOD - ITALIAN BRIAR
    TYPE OF FINISH - rustic
    Type of mouthpiece - ebonite
Type of filter - no filter
    Weight -91g (+-2g)
    Length - 135mm (5,31 inches)
    Bowl height -60mm (2,36 inches)
Bowl chamber diameter -21mm (0,82 inches)

Polinski is a quite reputable pipemaker in Poland, one of the two 'great names' they have (the other being Worobiec). So, no need for fear of the unknown . I have this one:

A nice enough pipe, but nowhere near the price range I read above. Qualitywise, this would be about equal to a standard Peterson or Savinelli with a price tag of around $70, I guess.

With me, the jury's still out on that stem. It's a 9mm filter pipe, by the way.
