There are a lot of topics about cellaring and aging but I did not find anything specific about plugs and ropes. So how is the aging curves of plugs and ropes particularly when compared to similar flakes, for example FVP versus FVF or St. James plug versus the flake version. I would assume the aging curve for the plugs is even longer and lasting longer. Any experiences?

You will most likely see faster aging results on compressed tobacco. As far as a curve, I just have no idea. Probably the same as the other blends with similar components.
I can say that the Empire Virginias in the ropes for GH&co do seem to get much better and more sociable with age. But, I haven't smoked for long enough to know what more than ten years will do to any of them.
