Hi everyone,

this is my first pipe purchase of 2016.

I found it at an estate sale, but i can't find any information of the stamping "RENOMME".

Can someone help me identify it?

Thanks :puffy:

Bari...could be, but it looks like Stanwell shape 18 to me...
18- Pear-shaped bowl, slightly bent, oval stem, saddle mouthpiece, designed by Sixten Ivarsson.
This is a Stanwell Scandia 18,

Very nice looking pipe!

I gotta say, it really looks like the stanwell, but the stem looks thicker than the stanwell.

But only the name is weird.

It was not an uncommon practice for manufactures to sell of surplus stock as "no name" pipes or to produce pipes for a third party as "private label". Hunter's research suggests the latter might be the case here but the source didn't know Stanwell had also been a source. I'd say the difference between the two is within manufacturing tolerances, they're essentially clones.
