I will be moving to Germany soon and I wanted to get some input on tobaccos that are available that I wouldnt have seen before. I live in Ireland now and all I can get my hands on are Petersons, Dunhill, 2 or 3 Sam Gawiths and some OTC blends like Condor.
I am mostly an English (Latakia) smoker but I do enjoy virginias and such.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Germany has a wide variety of pipe tobaccos available, and like gigger48 said many ex-UK brands are manufactured there. Pöschl does have a few pipe tobacco brands, but they are all cheaper aros.
This firm might give you a good idea what's available in Germany.

Hu Tobacco is amazing and Hans is one of the best blenders around if you ask me.

Seems to be a fantastic selection over there and the prices are about half of what i pay here. For example a tin of Dunhill nightcap in Dublin is 22euro (28usd) and are only 12 euro in Germany . Thats a fantastic price difference

HU tobacco blends some of the finest quality tobacco to be found on this planet. (seriously!) Also, Dan tobacco is widely available and top shelf.

It seems a number of tobaccos are blended in Germany. One example, Cup O Joes house blends in the U.S. I think Brebbia

blends may be done in Germany. This leads me to believe that there is a good selection. Check out the duty free shops

when they're available, mostly on the way out of country, I guess.

Rav beat to mentioning the HU line, which has some of the best tobaccos anybody makes. And Herb Motzek is there, too, and his blends take a back seat to very few. If you like a bold VaPerBur, you should get Strang, which has become my favorite tobacco made today.

I visited Munich last summer. My first stop was Pfeifen Huber. http://www.pfeifen-huber.de/
Excellent shop with a huge selection of tinned house blends as well as others. One I brought home with me is their "Own Blend" English. Full Latakia with Virginia and black cavendish. Very good. They have sample jars displayed so you can try a few blends in-store. Great selection of pipes, including their own Huber line made for them by Vauen.
They also carry a large selection of Scotches upstairs, if you're so inclined.
Definitely a must visit when in Munich! You didn't state where in Germany you'll be living, but they ship Europe wide. Check out their website, you should be able to find what you're looking for.

Yes K&K is German and manufacture for many different houses I believe. I believe Rattray's is one for example.

You're a very lucky man, quantum! HU and Motzek are both amazing brands with superb ranges of top blends. Dockworker flake by HU is one of my all time favourites and jiminks is spot-on (as always!) about Strang. I get to Germany as often as I can on business and stock up for the return journeys as the range and prices are both really good. Even the tabac in the railway station in Berlin is better than anything we have in London.

Don't miss Munich. There's 2 fabulous pipe stores there: Pfeifen Diehl and Pfeifen Huber. Apparently their blends are unique to the stores. I've tried a few - all great.

I do have a list of websites I've collected.
http://www.hu-tobacco.de/ - really high quality blends as other said. I just had my first bowl of Dockworker a few hours ago and it was superb. Very highly recommended blends.

http://shop.tabakmeier.eu/ - John Aylesbury blends, I haven't tried them yet but I've read lots of good reviews
http://deintabak.de/pfeifentabak.html?limit=30 - Strang is very good

http://www.tabakversand.de/ - Sells Robert Lewis blends, I've only tried 123 Mixture so far, really good cigar leaf blend
These are places that send within the EU, there are loads more who only ship within Germany, I haven't listed them because I don't live there. You can find loads more by searching "pfeifentabak" on google.

You'll be spoilt for choice in Germany. Many newsagents sell as big a range of pipe tobacco as a specialist shop in London might. Well priced, too. I was in Munich recently and made my pilgrimage to Pfeiffen Huber and Preiffen Diehl where I bought some Samuel Gawith offerings I've never seen on a shelf in the UK.
I also ended up buying a few tins of other blends from a paper shop in an s-bahn station which had a big selection.
I've had the same experience elsewhere in the country. I actually bought my first proper pipe - a Peterson - from a tobacconist/newsagents in Konstanz, down in the south.
If you're buying new pipes there, it's hard to find one that doesn't come with a 9mm filter.
You will also actually see people out and about smoking a pipe, which I really enjoy. I'm a bit out of date with the smoking laws in different German Laender, but if you're lucky you might even be able to enjoy a Pilsner and a pipe at the same time whilst sitting in a nice Kneipe.
On a sidenote, regarding seeing others smoking a pipe... Dubai (where I live now) has a 'Smokers' Centre' shop in ever major mall, with a reasonable range of tobacco and quality pipes, pipe tools, filters and so on. I have never once seen anyone else smoking a pipe in Dubai though!
Viel Spass in Deutschland. I would love to live there again.

HU Tobaccos. again. Recently found them and ordered and now smoked some wonderful flakes (Sunset and Haymaker). Well worth a visit to their website. Living in the UK was no problem re ordering. Living in Germany itself will be, I would imagine, very easy indeed. Best of luck with the search and choice.
