That was fun. So most of us smoke by ourselves, at home, and not while eating.......

The broad strokes I got from the survey is that pipe smoking is a very solitary activity, but this forum provides camaraderie as much as it does pipe info.

Very interesting. As for the pipe club question, my problem--and I imagine that this is true for many--is that there are no clubs locally, at least that I am aware of.

I think for many of us with no club close, forums like this one serve a similar purpose. A poor substitute maybe but a substitute all the same.

I was an avid pipe smoker for years before I discovered that there were two different pipe clubs in my area that I had no idea existed. Granted, I live in a fairly large metropolitan area so there are plenty of people and in close proximity and those are two factors that make it easier to form a club. By contrast, people in more rural areas are less likely to find birds of a feather in that regard. All that is to say, I think there is more that pipe clubs could do to make their presence known to the outside world (if increasing membership is their goal).

There is a club in my environs. I'm not a joiner though. And, obviously, if they'd have me ... their standards can't be very high.

Completed. Good survey and I enjoyed reviewing the results so far.

Completed. I was surprised to see the percentage of pipes in the $400-$500 range

If we've already submitted our responses, which I did the other day, is there a way to see the current stats without answering all the questions again (which would obviously skew the results)?

Did it ask for marital status? I don't think so. Nor did it ask for the country/state that you live it. And absolutely nothing about your herring preferences (pickled, wine sauce, sour cream, etc.). No questions about facial hair, personal hygiene or firearm ownership, either.

I was puzzled when I got to the end and the herring question never came up.

The current lack of herring inquisitiveness is appalling. It's like nobody cares anymore.

There were already over 500 results in the first few minutes after he posted the OP. Now, it is merely in the 600's... interesting.

Late to the game but gave my input. It made me sad to see how many of us are smoking alone but also brought me peace knowing just how therapeutic a quite smoke is.
