Here's some pics of a Russian artisan's beautiful and weird pipes. Peck or Harris will know his name in English, his website's in Cyrillic. He makes some beautiful and normal pipes, like these:

Then the acid apparently starts kicking in, and you get:

Say what you will, some are too weird, but there ain't no denying the dude's a freaking artist. Here's the link to his website, with hundreds of pages of more pics.

Click the link for more. Over a hundred pages, some are more art than pipes, sure, but you can't resist all of them. And some of the weird ones you end up liking, too. I like the horn (the last one before he drops the acid), and I could see myself smoking the next to last one. Or just buy a new car.
On his site, it looks like they're called
ScreenHunter_43May051812_zps1c52c01f.jpg
. Kinda looks like Savenko, I guess. I'll see if I can find out.

@sergemoat: Confirmed, it's Andrey Savenko, thank you. Googled him and saw his picture, same as on his site. Weird looking dude, but mad pipe carving skills. Dude's like a musician that can play all the instruments.

Here's some more interesting reading on Russian pipes. Main site is in French but these articles are in English.

Simple pipes for simple people: I'll take the dark finished Canadian pictured above!
And it's not just pipes; you wouldn't catch me driving a Lamborghini either, even if I could afford one!

@dottie: After going back through these a few times, the dark Canadian is absolutely my favorite, too. Shiny. And I damn sure would drive a Lambo if I could afford one. Hell, I drive the nicest car I can afford now - I just got lucky that Miatas are cheap!
Ryan Alden lonestar: Savenko has only been carving for five years, you might want to find out where he gets his acid!

Nice find - none of these is my cup of tea, but there's no denying the man's got talent!

Amazing stuff. I like the wild and the standard shapes. That chimney, second from the top is my style all the way. Great stuff guys.

The ones I've seen for sale go for ~$500-$1000. Probably more too. I am also Unique to the Point of Eccentricity, and I have to admit, I'd love to go to the smoking lounge at Up In Smoke or wherever, and pull out one of the extravagant ones.
He only started carving five years ago, in 2009, puts out about 40 a year. Apparently it is possible to be born to carve pipes.
PS If you want one that looks like the 'normal' ones, get a Ryan Alden (lonestar). His go from about $150-350. Most are about $200.
